The pool and lazy river are set adjacent to the beach and sea. Bedrooms set around the plaza open directly onto the area and all bedrooms have views that include the sea – standard room size is 37/9 sq meters including balcony. We like the atmosphere at this hotel and we also enjoyed dining in the Samba restaurant.

Al Bandar Hotel 5-star with just under 200 accommodation units is a more formal hotel ideal for business men and conferences. With a good choice of restaurants the hotel also has a substantial and flexible banqueting hall. Bedrooms are well appointed and are slightly larger than those at Al Waha at 45/7for standard rooms.

Al Husn Hotel 6-star 180 units provide superlative facilities and services. Bedrooms are a spacious 56sq meters and the suits range up to 500sq meters in size. The hotel can offer butler service and its facilities (apart from dining) are exclusive to guests.

Desert Camps are set in vast open spaces of Oman. Many are permanent and designed in the local Bedouin style with date palm walling or as above goats hair tents. They either have mattresses on the floor or basic beds. Some have activities such as dune buggies (quad bikes), which can continue into late evening especially at weekends. The meals are casual with simple food. An alternative is to use dome tenting for private camping in more isolated areas.
